Running the Society and its History Centre takes a bit of work and, at the moment, we are short of helpers. If you wish to help in any way then please contact the secretary (click here for contact details) to discuss further. There isn’t a need to become a committee member and your help might just be an hour or two each month.
Some areas where help is needed are given below but any help is appreciated. Sometimes the help can be now and again such as helping with refreshments or helping at meeting nights. Some help requires a more regular commitment such as being History Centre Manager. Sometimes there might be a need to be on the BAHS Committee but this is often negotiable.
History Centre Manager
The BAHS operates the History Centre located at the back of of the Blakeney Village Hall. A new manager is required.
History Centre Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to help open the History Centre on scheduled dates and on other dates as agreed with members and visitors.
Minutes Secretary
A minutes secretary would be be much appreciated by the current committee to take notes and produce minutes of our committee meetings. We hold around 6 to 8 committee meetings a year.
Events
A small group meet a few times a year to put together a programme of events and to then arrange speakers.
Meetings Organiser
We could do with help in running our meetings from organising venues, setting up equipment to greeting our speakers when they arrive.
Refreshments
If you are able to help with refreshments at our meetings held at the Harbour Rooms. We meet around seven or eight times a year and at most meetings serve around twenty teas and coffees. The intention is to have a small rota so that you would help out three or four times each year.
